Marketing Specialist

Joined the business in September 2020

Eden is our Marketing Specialist here at Lockabox, her role at Lockabox is to create and drive our B2B and B2C marketing strategy that allows us to reach the business goals and sales targets.

What does a typical day look like for you? 

My days can vary massively depending on the focus within the business at that time! My routine is to wake up at half 6 and walk my dogs, then breakfast and head to work! My mornings usually consist of replying to emails, checking socials, scheduling social content, producing reports and sending some PR emails. At lunch, I usually go on a walk with Alex to get our steps up or go boxing at the local gym. My afternoons are then usually spent in meetings planning the next quarter or writing up the strategy for one of our key channels! Then home to give the dogs a long walk, make tea and then a glass of rose wine (past Wednesday haha!) On a Friday it is usually to the pub for a drink with the team!

The best part of your job? 

Being able to see the direct impact of my actions and work, I have worked in large companies prior to this and the difference you can make is what I love about working in a startup environment. I also adore the team, they are now some of my close friends!

The worst part of your job?

There is a lot going on, and due to the nature of the business things are always changing, sometimes it can be difficult to keep dynamic as work you have done a month ago can lose relevancy quick and sometimes that is hard to let go of!

What do you use your lockabox for? 

Keeping all my cards, memories and pictures, safe and secure and all together!

Where do you hope to see lockabox in 3 years? 

Everywhere!! I would love it to be available in all countries online and potentially have established a presence in retail. I would also love to see the team continue to grow!

What’s the biggest lesson you have learnt since starting the business?

You don’t always have to know the answer, most people don’t! Go with your gut and trust you know the business and your role well enough to make the right decision. 

What is your biggest achievement since starting Lockabox?

I think establishing what we call the ’brand whys’, which are basically the emotive reasons behind why people use our products. They have defined the marketing strategy, and our brand refresh and are now used throughout the business and with external specialists which is a really proud moment for me!

What did you do prior to joining Lockabox?

I studied Business at the University of Bath, during which I had two placements, one as a consultant and one in PR and Marketing. This is my first ‘adult’ job haha!

Now a bit about you…

What do you enjoy doing most outside of work?

Walking my dogs, and exploring new places! I also love travelling, I am my happiest on holiday and going out for nice food and drinks (particularly wine!)

What’s your star sign? Which attribute is most true to you?

My star sign is Virgo, the truest attribute is probably that I am a little bit of a control freak, I like a plan! If I could create a list for all parts of my life I would!

One piece of advice you wish you could go back and tell yourself?

It will all work out in the end, don’t worry what people think of you!

And she will love this..’Your mum is usually right, even if you don’t want to hear it!’

What two items would you take with you if you were shipwrecked on a deserted island where all your food and water needs were taken care of?

Can I take a person haha? I get bored on my own! Probably a good book and my phone!

If you could choose your last ever meal, three courses, what would it be?

Starter – A sushi platter 

Main – Spaghetti Bolognese OR Lobster Pasta if I was being fancy (it is my last meal after all!)

Dessert – Sticky toffee pudding with ice cream

Drink – Maybe a rose prosecco or a larger and lime (but let’s keep it classy)
