Meet the Lockabox team | Alex Styles
Customer Experience Specialist
Joined the business in April 2021
Alex is the Customer Experience Specialist here at Lockabox, her role is to answer all customer queries and ensure everyone is happy! She also manages business sales, both outbound and inbound. We’ve asked Alex to answer some questions about her role and personality to let you get to know her a little better!
What does a typical day look like to you?
I don’t really have a typical day as my work really varies from day to day! However, normally I come in and make a massive cup of tea for myself & general tea/coffee for everyone else (we’re all big hot drink drinkers!). I’ll then check all emails and reply to everything that needs to be urgently done (and continue to monitor it throughout the day), check and record any product reviews and help customers with any issues. At lunch I usually go on a walk with my colleague Eden to get our steps up, or find somewhere sunny to sit and eat our lunch – once a week we go boxing at the gym which we love! In the afternoon, I usually reply to any sales enquiries from businesses, and liaise with the ops team to get the best shipping quotes. I then finish work, head to crossfit and then home to relax before the next busy day!
What are the best and worst parts of your job?
The best part of my job is that no two days are ever the same! It’s also really satisfying getting to help people resolve their issues and understand how Lockabox benefits them.
The worst part of my job is probably that it’s really hard to plan my day – I can have an idea of what I would like to do in a day and tasks to achieve, however if there are a lot of enquiries (both customer & business) then my plan for the day can be delayed due to sorting this out.
Where do you hope to see Lockabox in three years?
Bigger and better!

What’s something that surprised you about working at Lockabox?
How there is such a team feeling within the business and everyone is super lovely.
What do you use your Lockabox for?
I use my Lockabox to keep my snacks in at work to stop Kate from stealing/eating them!
What led you to this career?
I had previously worked in the hospitality industry for the last 10 years but lost my job due to the pandemic. I loved the idea of having a job that still involved dealing with and helping people but wanted a bit of work life balance (ie: no weird shifts or working every weekend). Luckily, I saw this job at Lockabox come up and well the rest is history….
Now a bit about you…
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at Lockabox?
I take part in Crossfit, explore and walk a lot, see my friends and family and I love to bake cakes (and eat them afterwards!).
One piece of advice you wish you could go back and tell yourself?
Not to care what other people think.
What two items would you take with you if you were shipwrecked on a deserted island where all your food and water needs were taken care of?
A good book and my phone!
If you could choose your last ever meal, three courses, what would it be?
Starter – definitely something cheesy…a breaded brie (deep fried with red onion chutney) OR a sharing camembert!
Main – PASTA!…probably a lasagne or carbonara with garlic bread
Dessert – Chocolate fudge cake with cream & ice cream
What animal would you consider your spirit animal?
Probably a Giraffe – because they are very tall and limby, like me!
Two truths and a lie
I have a grade 8 in singing.
I can’t touch my little finger with my thumb.
I can speak fluent French.
